Welcome to my blog!!
Well, it has been a long election but I am finally the President-Elect of the Cobb County Association of Educators! The election was held Tuesday, April 20th, and the County released the report that they were laying off (RIF) over 500+ teachers the next morning. Welcome to the Jungle, Madame President! Since that night I have been interviewed by the Marietta Daily Journal, by the Atlanta Journal Constitution, and several TV news crews! I even got to talk about the education issues on the Bert Show (my favorite radio show)! I spend this past Tuesday (april 27th) and yesterday down at the capitol, working with GAE's Government Laison to help defeat bills that would have hurt education in Georgia. Yesterday I spent from 8am to 12:30 at night at the capitol, but WE WON!! It was so worth it!
